We are seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer to lead high-impact projects, shape technical solutions and guide a team of engineers delivering complex systems into regulated environments.

£45000 - £65000 + Hybrid Working. Flexi-Time, Early Finish Friday

EC&I Engineer
- The Role:
Translate high-level design inputs into practical, safe, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Lead and manage a team of EC&I engineers and designers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Oversee the creation and verification of key design deliverables:
Schematics, GA drawings, cable schedules, FDS, software documentation, test plans etc.
Interface coordination with other engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
Contribute to and/or lead HAZOPs, design reviews, and safety assessments.
Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, relevant design standards, and internal quality systems.
Identify and specify third-party equipment, liaising with procurement and supply chain.
Work closely with manufacturing, test, and commissioning teams to ensure delivery excellence.
EC&I Engineer
- The Person :
Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards (IET preferred).
Extensive experience in electrical/control engineering in highly regulated industries – nuclear experience is beneficial.
Demonstrable leadership in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Strong understanding of industry standards – knowledge of IEC 61508 is a plus.
Methodical and detail-driven, with a passion for producing safe and fit-for-purpose designs.
