Manager, Engineering

Take ownership of the requirements management process for complex aerospace systems that play a critical role in aircraft safety and performance. At ALTEN were supporting advanced actuation system development where requirements traceability validation and system integrity are key to success. As a Systems Engineer youll drive the definition flow-down and verification of system requirements across the full V-lifecycle working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure every function performs as intended from concept to certification.

Location:

Wolverhampton (on-site 3 days per week)

Experience Level: 5 years in Systems Engineering with Requirements Management

• Define author and manage system-level requirements for complex electromechanical systems
• Ensure traceability validation and verification across the full systems lifecycle (V-Model)
• Support design reviews configuration control and system-level integration activities
• Collaborate with mechanical electrical and software engineering teams to ensure system coherence
• Maintain high-quality documentation and manage requirements baselines within DOORS 9.X
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes within a safety-critical aerospace environment

• Proven background in Systems Engineering and Requirements Management
• Experience authoring and tracing requirements using IBM DOORS.
• Understanding of V-model development life cycles and system validation methods
• Degree or hands‑on experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Familiarity with aerospace or safety‑critical product development

• Knowledge of actuation landing gear or flight control systems
• Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody
• Experience working to aerospace or defence standards (ARP
  4754A DO-178C DO-160 MIL-STD etc.)
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and a structured systems‑thinking mindset

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Mechanical Electrical or Systems Engineering (or related discipline)
• OR relevant technical military background with equivalent hands‑on systems engineering experience
