SEND Officer
Location: City of Wolverhampton Council – Wolverhampton, England, United Kingdom
Salary: £44,075 - £49,282 (Grade
7)
Hours: 37 hours per week; working arrangements flexible.
Contract Type: Full‑time, fixed term until end of March 2027.
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced SEN Casework Officer or someone with substantial experience in SEND and vulnerable groups within a local authority or educational/social care setting. The role involves assessment, EHCP reviews and working closely with children, young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out statutory EHC needs assessments and EHCP reviews across all age groups.
- Prioritise caseloads to meet statutory timescales.
- Collaborate proactively with other agencies to achieve best outcomes.
- Document and report to senior management.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 0‑25 years 2015, Equality Act 2010).
Key Requirements:
- Experience as a SEN Casework Officer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across work locations.
- Willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS checks.
