Job SummaryMoog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice trained, experienced CNC Grinder to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton. At Moog we’re focused on the customer and for us this means designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. Our machinists work to close tolerances, an essential requirement of the aerospace industry. This vacancy is night shift working (after training period on days).
Responsibilities- Operating/setting CNC grinding machines.
- Capability of machining exotic and hardened materials.
- Using relevant inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance.
- Carry out own 1st off inspection and check/complete the necessary quality documentation.
- Able to set and run multiple machines (multi-manning).
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Experience of internal and external grinding of complex components.
- Good knowledge of machining methods/techniques and selection of appropriate tooling.
- Attention to detail and accuracy and experience in process improvement techniques.
- The role requires the candidate to be self-certified and a quality stamp holder after qualifying period.
- Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing role within the aerospace industry.
- Programming experience on Studer CNC grinding machines that use Studer Win software.
- Experience/knowledge of the superfinishing process.
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role, and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
