Hours:

Monday - Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-1pm

WF Tech are proud to be representing a precision engineering business based in Wolverhampton, who are looking to add an experienced Capstan Setter Operator to their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

. Set and operate manual machines including Capstan Lathes, Pillar Drills, Chamfer Mate, and Tapping Arms.
. Produce work to schedule using manual machinery to tight tolerances.
. Inspect finished components using gauges and measuring equipment.
. Liaise closely with the CNC Machining Department to support production.
. Load and operate shot blasters, ultrasonic cleaners, and tempering furnaces when required.
. Assist with other shop floor duties as needed.

Required

Skills & Experience:

. Time-served manual machinist with strong turning and milling background.
. Proven experience as a Capstan Setter, including setting Coventry die heads and roller boxes.
. Confident using inspection and measuring tools.
. Experience producing threaded components.
. Good bench fitting and grinding skills (e.g. chaser grinding).
. Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

Skills:

. CNC machine operation experience.
. Knowledge of finishing and heat treatment processes.
. Experience using shadow graphs or hardness testing machines.
. Welding or surface grinding experience.
. Counterbalance forklift licence.
