EV Welding Technician – Wolverhampton EPMC – Salary: £47,344.
In the Manufacturing team at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you’ll help power iconic electric cars. You will work alongside technicians and leaders to drive our commitment to shape a future we believe in. Use your expertise, cutting‑edge technology, and problem‑solving skills to ensure efficient, sustainable, and high‑quality production.
As a Welding Technician you will set up and operate all manual welding stations, rework, and validation equipment to ensure production readiness. You will use your technical expertise to identify and rectify non‑conforming products, minimise scrap and downtime, and support the wider team by identifying in‑process welding issues and implementing effective corrective actions.

- Safely operate, troubleshoot and maintain welding stations and equipment for all rework purposes.
- Serve as a go‑to person for understanding and rectifying quality issues with the process/product, engaging with Engineering for solutions.
- Support Engineering with the development of welding procedures and associated documentation.
- Learn, understand and follow JLR requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivity.
- Perform visual inspections and provide periodic weld samples to comply with internal quality standards and legislation.
- Experience and qualification in manual welding GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and MMA.
- Ability to weld comfortably in 3G (PF) positions.
- Significant experience working in a manufacturing, metal‑working aluminium environment.
- Weld Approval Test Certificate.
- Relevant Level 3 NVQ/BTEC/City and Guilds qualification.
