The Commercial Analyst is a critical role within the Commercial Finance team, acting as a key support to both the sales and operational finance functions. You will be the primary contact for commercial data analysis, providing the insight required to drive retention, optimise new business, drive performance improvements and manage central overheads.

This role requires the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights for non‑finance stakeholders, ensuring commercial decisions are backed by robust data.

• Commercial & Sensitivity Analysis :
  Conduct deep‑dive analysis and scenario modelling to identify growth trends; present findings to the sales team and weekly CIC.
• Strategic Retention :
  Consolidate data with Regional Management Accountants and Finance Business Partners to drive retention efforts
• Bid Management :
  Assist the retention team with the completion of Oracles and bid submissions, ensuring financial viability alongside FBPs.
• Account Development :
  Provide accurate and timely data to the retention team to support the creation and execution of Account Development Plans.

• Budgeting & Cycles :
  Lead the consolidation of regional / divisional budgets and aggregate forecasting inputs for senior leadership.
• Overhead & Month‑End :
  Manage central overheads, P&L movements, accruals, and prepayments with a focus on variance analysis and cost control.
• Recharges & Automation :
  Oversee Aspens Originating Recharges and lead process improvement projects to streamline and automate financial reporting.

• Performance Tracking :
  Develop reports monitoring New Business, Base Estate, and Renegotiations.
• Standardised & Ad Hoc Reporting :
  Oversee the timely publication of standard business reports and generate reactive analysis to support decision‑making.

• We are looking for someone willing to take ownership and responsibility for their own workload, who can be flexible and adaptable to a continuously changing environment.
• Minimum 3 years' practical experience in a commercial analysis or management accounting role.
• Actively working towards or fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
• Advanced skills in Excel are essential. Experience with financial modelling and handling large datasets is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insight for non‑finance stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of the central P&L elements, and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Required travel to operational units, client meetings, or other office locations as necessary.
