General Assembly Operative

Join as an operative at Yamazaki Mazak, a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

About the Job

Yamazaki Mazak operates at the forefront of machine tool manufacturing. Due to increased workload within the department, the company is seeking a General Assembly Operative to work in the Assembly Department on rotating shifts.

Job Description
  • Mechanically fitting and preparation work on a variety of modules, lathes and machining centres.
  • Ensure all activities are completed within Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Actively engage with all company Quality Control initiatives.
  • Follow written procedures and detailed checklists.
  • Support weekly production plan.
  • Ensure quality gateways are complete to the highest standard.
  • Provide on‑the‑job training.
Person Specification

Essential Criteria
  • Previous mechanical, fitting or assembly experience.
  • Ability to use hand tools (powered and non‑powered) to work to a high quality standard.
  • Capacity to work within a close team.
  • Ability to read and work from drawings.
  • Strong communication skills working closely with team leaders and supervisors.
  • Team player able to build schedule and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining very high standards.
  • Positive attitude and ability to develop relationships within the team.
Person Specification – Desirable Criteria
  • Experience working within a positive close-knit team.
  • Received high quality training from experienced personnel.
