Role:
Temporary fixed‑term band 5 nursing contract until March 2026, 37.5 hours per week.
- Prioritise referrals and manage workload.
- Assess, monitor and continually evaluate risk management of situation and environment for patient, carer, family and staff, and deal with safety issues as identified.
- Assess, deliver and evaluate all aspects of clinical nursing care based on best practice.
- Use equipment/technology to aid appropriate assessment and delivery of treatment, such as Doppler, Syringe Driver, enteral feed system, moving and handling equipment.
- Carry out a range of clinical duties involving body fluids – e.g., venepuncture, wound dressings, catheterisation and tracheostomy care.
- Undertake and obtain samples for diagnostic purposes – e.g., venepuncture, wound swabs, urinary and faecal sampling.
- Support and educate patients/carers promoting independence and rehabilitation, using a case‑management model of working.
- Deliver care in promoting comfort for patients who are terminally ill following recognised care pathway.
- Maintain sound knowledge of medication and effects on conditions.
- Be responsible for appropriate and cost‑effective nurse prescribing.
- Administer medications, reviewing and monitoring effects.
- Communicate closely with patients and all parties involved in delivery of services.
- Order and ensure effective management of specialist nursing equipment.
Contract type:
Temporary fixed‑term, band 5, until March 2026. Working 37.5 hours per week.
Preceptorship:
The Trust will provide a twelve‑month preceptorship period for new to registration nurses, midwives and allied health professionals.
Relocation assistance may be available for successful applicants moving to the region for certain posts.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS):
The post requires a DBS check. The cost is deducted from salary over four months (standard £27.40, enhanced £55.40).
