A well established and growing construction consultancy, specialising in industrial and commercial developments, is seeking a highly competent Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of large scale shed and industrial projects across the South East. This is a client side role based in Worthing, with involvement from early stage cost planning through to final account.
This consultancy has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality industrial units, distribution centres, and logistics facilities. They are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in the sector to take ownership of key projects and ensure commercial rigour across the lifecycle of each scheme.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor RoleThe successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing full pre- and post-contract duties, including cost planning, tender analysis, contract administration, and change control. You will work closely with project managers and the wider design team to provide strategic commercial advice and ensure robust financial control.
This is a key hire for the team and offers a real opportunity for long-term progression within a highly regarded and supportive consultancy environment.
Senior Quantity Surveyor– Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost plans and budget estimates throughout project stages
- Prepare and present monthly cost reports and cashflows to clients
- Lead procurement processes, including preparation of tender documentation and evaluation
- Oversee contract administration and manage change control procedures
- Support value engineering exercises and offer commercial insight during design development
- Liaise with contractors and consultants to ensure cost certainty and contractual compliance
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Strong pre- and post-contract knowledge
- Experience working on industrial, commercial or shed developments is essential
- Relevant industry qualification – BSc Quantity Surveying or similar (MRICS preferred but not essential)
- Excellent understanding of JCT contracts and procurement routes
- Confident communicator with strong commercial awareness
- Salary of £60,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
