Job Summary

The post holder provides technical and general support to the Fleet Department and its activities and operations, dealing with manufacturers and suppliers on technical issues.

Responsibilities
  • Co‑ordinating the authorisation process with contracted garages / body shops, Trust workshops and lease companies.
  • Monitoring work carried out, charges and service delivery, and resolving related problems.
  • Address any related issues that arise during the service period.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent, plus knowledge of financial procedures / contract law to Diploma Level, or equivalent experience.
  • General understanding of contract management.
  • Willingness to undertake training to enhance knowledge of specialised equipment and technical procedures.

Desirable

  • Sound knowledge of workshop and garage technical operations.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of vehicle and mechanical fitting practices and procedures.
  • Experience of business administrative practices relating to workshops and garages.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.

Essential Experience

  • Experience using financial systems such as Oracle for ordering supplies.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working within a demanding environment with competing priorities.
  • Experience liaising with customers and service users across organisational boundaries.

  • Ability to travel within the geographical area.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Self‑motivated, highly committed with minimal supervision.
  • Effective organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and team‑working skills.
