Building Surveyor

We are seeking a motivated and experienced surveyor to join us on a full-time or part-time basis at our head office in Erbistock, Wrexham.

SJM Surveyors is a family‑run, independent building surveying practice based in the North Midlands. While we operate from our head office, our growing team also works remotely, when needed, to provide professional, client‑focused services across the region.

Our core services include:

• Valuations for private clients, lenders, and corporate customers.
• Building Surveys and RICS Home Surveys (Levels 2 and
  3).

As a practice regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), we take pride in offering a high standard of service. Our team comprises experienced RICS Associates, Members, and Fellows, ensuring quality and professionalism in every report.

We are seeking skilled and motivated Surveyors to join us on a full‑time or part‑time basis across Shropshire, Cheshire, Wrexham, Wirral, North and Mid‑Wales and beyond.

• Conduct RICS Home Surveys – Levels 2 and 3 (depending on experience).
• Perform valuations for private, corporate, and lender clients.
• Prepare detailed, high‑quality reports and provide expert advice.
• Inspect properties, analyse data, and ensure compliance with RICS standards.
• Collaborate with our growing team to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

• Damp and Defect Analysis.
• Condition and Dilapidation Reports.
• Party Wall Matters.
• Listed and Historic Buildings.

• RICS qualification (FRICS / MRICS / Associate RICS) or actively working towards it.
• Expertise in residential surveying, valuation, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of RICS Home Survey standards and the RICS Red Book.
• Experience in specialist areas is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, analytical approach.
