Position: Continuous Improvement Engineer (Permanent)

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Continuous Improvement Engineer in a newly created role supporting phenomenal business growth, providing engineering support and technical leadership to production, problem solving on machine and process problems, and working closely with maintenance and process engineers to optimise and improve performance.

Key skills

* Ideally educated to degree level in mechanical or chemical engineering

* Some post graduate experience as a production engineer, manufacturing engineer, or continuous improvement engineer ideally in a process manufacturing environment (paper, tissue, fabric, foil, film, coating, plating, lamination, plastic, paint, composites, casting, steel, batch chemical all relevant) and knowledge of principles such as machine speeds, tensions and temperatures.

* Experienced in machine-based manufacturing processes, accustomed to diagnosing machine and process based issues, happy to work closely with maintenance to resolve equipment based problems

* Knowledge of Lean tools – OEE, SMED specifically – highly desirable

* IT and data literate and able to use engineering software to gather and analyse data (OEE, SPC)

* Sound problem solving skills, root cause analysis, Pareto analysis techniques

* Able to effectively and successfully engage with internal stakeholders and external suppliers as required

* Great prioritisation skills, methodical, logical and well organised, able to adapt to changing circumstances, and really thrive in a fast-paced environment

* Collaborative team player who enjoys working with others in a supportive and close-knit team
