Minimum Entry Criteria: You’ll need at least four GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a relevant scientific/technical subject at C/4 or above.

What does the Mechatronics Apprenticeship Scheme involve day to day?This is where Mechanical and Electrical engineering meet Robotics, Electronics, Product Engineering and more. Fixing the machines that make our product. Without you, things won’t just grind to a halt they’ll stay that way. Every time a problem arises, you’re right there, on the job. Yes, it will be highly pressurised at times, but the career you’ll develop will be amazing and really important in our business’s future.
For the first year of the apprenticeship, you’ll mainly train at our dedicated training partner's Coleg Cambria, Deeside site, with half terms being based at JCB Transmissions. Year 2 you’ll spend 4 days per week at JCB Transmissions and day release final 2 years you’ll be mainly based in JCB gaining on the job experience.
What comes next?- We’ll review applications against the essential criteria and shortlist. Successful candidates will be sent links to online assessments between November 2025 and January 2026.
- Once you complete the online assessment, we’ll review it and provide you with an update within a few weeks.
- Applicants who pass the assessment will be invited to one of our in‑person Assessment Centres between January and April 2026.
- Following the Assessment Centre, whether successful or not, you will receive a call with feedback.
- If successful, you will be taken through the onboarding process, which will include a familiarisation day.
