Locum, Agency, or Bank Worker (High Demand) Are you ready for your next high-impact assignment in the North East? The Darlington Borough Council Learning & Disability Team (Life Stages Service) is looking for accomplished and dedicated Registered Social Workers to join us on a flexible contract basis.
This role offers an exceptional hourly rate to reward professionals capable of providing high-quality, strengths-based social work to adults with learning disabilities and their carers in line with the Care Act 2014. We seek practitioners committed to maximising independence, inclusion, and positive outcomes for Darlington residents.
Key Responsibilities Your expert knowledge and agility will be utilised across a complex caseload, including:
Statutory Assessments:
Completing high-quality Care Act Assessments, Reviews, and Support Planning for adults (18) with learning disabilities and/or autism. Transition Work:
Working proactively with young people and their families to ensure effective and planned transition from Children's to Adult Services. Safeguarding:
Leading on safeguarding enquiries, risk management, and protection plans for vulnerable adults, ensuring robust professional judgment. Legal Frameworks:
Expert application of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) , including undertaking high-quality capacity assessments and best interest decisions. Multi-Agency
Collaboration:
Working closely with Community Learning Disability Health Teams, housing, police, and independent providers to deliver integrated, person-centred care. What We Need from You Essential
Qualification:
A recognised Social Work degree (DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA Social Work). Registration:
Current and valid registration with Social Work England (SWE) .
Experience:
Significant post-qualifying experience in Adult Social Care, ideally within a Learning & Disability or Complex Needs team.
Skills:
