Join Calian Advanced Technologies as a full‑time Physiotherapist at the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre in Borden.
Position OverviewCalian works under the Health Care Provider Contract with the Department of National Defence to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces; this role supports the health and wellbeing of military members.
Responsibilities- Deliver physiotherapy and rehabilitation interventions using evidence‑based approaches and best practices in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Manage a full orthopedic caseload (12–15 patients per day) with an average of 8 new assessments per week; typically 2 follow‑up appointments per hour.
- Assess and treat neuro‑musculoskeletal conditions from sports and training injuries, work injuries and accidents.
- Obtain and document informed patient consent for assessment and treatment.
- Provide screening assessments, education and orthosis recommendations in a direct‑access setting such as CDU walk‑ins.
- Prescribe exercise programs to rehabilitate, prevent injuries and promote fitness.
- Apply manual therapy and soft‑tissue techniques for scar tissue, muscle tension, circulatory disorders, and lymphatic problems.
- Utilize pain‑management techniques, including acupuncture (needling below the dermis).
- Offer ergonomics education and on‑site workplace assessments.
- Educate patients and health‑care team members on injury prevention and health promotion.
- Conduct biomechanical foot assessments, orthotic fitting and fabrication.
- Contribute to clinic program design and delivery (e.g., proprioceptive rehabilitation, reintegration, back‑pain self‑management).
- Participate in case presentations, inter‑disciplinary meetings, clinical rounds and patient conferences.
- Document all patient interactions in accordance with CF and provincial regulatory requirements.
- Current license in good standing from the province of Ontario.
- Minimum one year of experience in orthopedics or sports medicine and either Manual Therapy Level 1, McKenzie Part A, or an Acupuncture certification such as AFCI or Dry‑Needling.
- Valid certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) to Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as CPA/AED Level C.
$47‑$52 per hour.
