Security Guard; Gates - Nights - Borden

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well‑being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public‑sector clients, including uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by‑law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured.
• Guards are responsible for lowering and raising gate arms between 2100 hrs to 0600 hrs daily.
• Peak‑period s are completed randomly.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients.
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment.
• Maintain effective communication.
• Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor.

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ontario Security Guard Licence (OSGL).
• First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Must be able to obtain a Reliability Security Clearance – minimum 5 years Canadian residency.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to drag a 30 kg barrier across 5 m distance.
