Join the regional critical care transfer service (Retrieve) through a separate application (approx. 1.5 PAs) and expand your expertise. If you're dual-accredited, you can include 3-4 sessions in another specialty during non-ICU weeks, keeping your skills sharp and varied. Main duties of the job Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across the full range of critical care services as outlined in your job plan. Supervise and support doctors and ACCPs in training, including teaching sessions, assessments, and appraisals. Support medical students from Bristol and Peninsula and contribute to the development of non- consultant staff. Participate in research and quality improvement projects and contribute to monthly Governance and Mortality & Morbidity meetings.
Maintain clinical competence and comply with professional supervision requirements. Engage in clinical trials and research projects within the Critical Care department. Established research team in the department and trust wide Complete annual appraisal, GMC revalidation, job planning, and mandatory training. Agree a prospective job plan within three months of starting. Maintain CME standards. Provide prospective and short-notice cover for Critical Care duties to ensure 24/7 service.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Somerset NHS Foundation Trust to deliver high standards of care.
