Configuration Engineer

Position: Configuration Engineer (Contract)

Pay: £23 per hour (PAYE only)

Hours:

Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm or similar. 37 hrs/week
Contract Length:
Approx. 6 months with possible extension

Yeovil, Somerset. Hybrid working

* Seeking an Engineering Configuration Specialist to provide intermediate-level Configuration Management support within a busy engineering environment.

This role plays a key part in supporting an obsolescence programme, ensuring robust configuration processes and high-quality data integrity across systems.

You will report to the Senior Engineering Supervisor and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate configuration documentation and support engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

Support and promote strong configuration management processes.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve configuration issues.
Provide guidance to engineering teams on configuration management best practice.
Ensure changes to product configurations are accurately documented, controlled, and communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
Process design data releases and engineering changes.
Create and update EBOMs (Engineering Bill of Materials).
Maintain integrity of EBOM data during transition between PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and SAP systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience in configuration management or engineering support roles
Strong understanding of PLM and SAP systems
Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Confident communicator with the ability to support and influence engineering teams
An offer to the successful candidate will be subject to passing the following security vetting:
Right to work check (UK or NATO passport holders only), 5 years' referencing, drug screen, BPSS vetting, DBS check.
