Configuration and Data Management Specialist

The Configuration and Data Management Specialist will provide CM/DM support to fixed and rotary wing programmes and campaigns, ensuring consistent application of standards, processes, and regulatory requirements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Support the planning, implementation, and deployment of standardised Configuration and Data Management processes.
Identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and contribute to mitigation planning.
Collaborate on the standardisation and governance of configuration management toolsets, including security and access controls.
Support configuration management inputs to bids, programmes, and supplier Statements of Work.
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities related to CM/DM.Programme Configuration Management

Apply and adhere to contracted Configuration and Data Management requirements.
Liaise with customers and suppliers to agree joint working processes.
Support programme control boards, ensuring consistent execution, delivery of outputs, and timely closure of actions.
Provide CM support at design and programme reviews.
Schedule, track, review, and close Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs).
Review and approve technical data for security, export control, and intellectual property compliance.

Data Management

Track and report data transmissions to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
Manage customer and supplier data deliverables.
Ensure compliance with export control, security, licensing, and intellectual property regulations.
Support internal audits and reviews.
Maintain secure virtual environments for technical data sharing and manage offline backup systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Knowledge of contractual configuration management regulations and international standards.
Understanding of configuration management and programme management principles.
Commercial and financial awareness.
General knowledge of design, test, and manufacturing processes.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing planning methods.
High attention to detail, quality-focused, and able to manage workload effectively.
Good IT literacy.

Desirable

CMII Practitioner or equivalent qualification/experience.
