The Outpatient Pharmacist at Yeovil District Hospital is responsible for delivering a high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy service, ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines in line with national and local guidelines. Main duties of the job

As an Outpatient Pharmacist, you will lead the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy service at Yeovil District Hospital. Your responsibilities include ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines, providing expert clinical advice to healthcare professionals, and managing the day-to-day operations of the outpatient pharmacy. The position is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines in accordance with national and local guidelines, while providing expert clinical advice to healthcare professionals. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the outpatient pharmacy, supervising and developing pharmacy staff, and maintaining compliance with governance frameworks, legislation, and professional standards.

The pharmacist will act as the Responsible Pharmacist, oversee audits and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to strategic planning and service development. Additional responsibilities include managing controlled drugs and unlicensed medicines, monitoring key performance indicators and financial data, and supporting medicines management initiatives to optimise prescribing practices. The post holder must maintain accurate records, uphold confidentiality, and ensure continuity of service during operational challenges.

Candidates are required to hold full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council and demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, leadership ability, and organisational skills.
