BBC Introducing is a network of creatives, producers, presenters and music enthusiasts who discover and support emerging musical talent across the UK. Working here gives you a platform to showcase talent and potentially progress to national radio stations.
YOURKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Listening to new music for upload.
- Script‑writing.
- Audio editing.
- Assisting with live radio shows in the studio.
- Helping on events and gigs.
- Possibility of remote work on another Introducing show or at your local BBC radio station.
You’ll learn on and off the job, attending up to week‑long learning blocks with our learning provider to work towards an industry‑recognised Level 3 Production Assistant qualification. These blocks will combine in‑person and virtual delivery.
YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY- Passionate about music and radio within the scene you’re applying for.
- Regular gig‑goer and active in the local music scene.
- Creative, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
- Possess a keen interest in supporting emerging artists and contributing to music discovery.
- Available to work evenings and some weekends.
- 18 years of age or over before the apprenticeship starts in September 2026.
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years before the start date.
- Legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship.
- Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme.
- No prior learning required to apply.
For candidates under 19 years old on 8th September 2026: you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent) before the start. If not, you will need to achieve a Functional Skills Level 2 by the end of the apprenticeship.
