We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in York.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of machinery and automotive-related projects, with a strong focus on fabrication and sheet metal design.

Key Responsibilities:

Design mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery using Solid Works.

Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models.

Design sheet metal components and welded fabrications to manufacturing standards.

Support machinery and automotive design projects from concept through to manufacture.

Liaise with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.

Generate BOMs and technical documentation.

Support prototype builds, testing, and design improvements.

Skills & Experience Required:

Strong experience using Solid Works (essential).

Background in mechanical design within fabrication, machinery, or automotive environments.

Medium-level experience with fabrication and sheet metal design.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes including welding and machining.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
