Finance & Accounting Assistant – York – Up to £30,000

Chase & Holland are looking for a Finance & Accounting Assistant to join our York-based client and play a key role in financial reporting, payroll support, and day-to-day accounting operations.

What you’ll be doing :
You’ll be involved across a broad range of finance activities, including:
Supporting month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting, including management accounts, budgeting, KPIs, and financial statements
Maintaining accurate financial records, posting journals, and keeping ledgers up to date
Reconciling income and WIP schedules and assisting with invoice-related project work
Working collaboratively with internal and external auditors
Liaising with HR and our outsourced payroll provider to ensure accurate monthly payroll
Preparing bonus calculations, holiday accruals, and reconciling payroll
Providing transactional and administrative finance support when required
Assisting with the supervision of a finance apprentice
Essential skills and experience:
Varied accounting experience, including supporting with the preparation of management accounts
AAT Qualified would be ideal
Strong IT skills including Excel
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
