This well-established build contactor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Director to help guide the business through its next phase of growth and development. This is a rare and strategic position, offering the successful candidate a clear progression path to Managing Director within 2–3 years, subject to performance.

Operating across a broad range of sectors with project values up to £15m, the company is profitable and cash / asset rich and has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and long-term client relationships.

The Role

As Construction Director, you will have overall responsibility for the operational performance of the business across the North of England within a c £75m turnover contractor. You’ll lead project delivery teams, drive operational excellence and ensure the company continues to deliver high-quality projects safely, efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all construction operations to ensure consistent delivery standards across the business.

Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to project, commercial and site teams.

Support business strategy, operational planning and continuous improvement.

Strengthen client and supply chain relationships, ensuring repeat business and collaborative working.

Play a central role in succession planning and future business leadership.

About You:

Senior operational leader within the UK construction sector, ideally at Construction Director, Operations Director or senior Contracts Manager level ready to step up.

Strong track record of delivering multiple projects and leading high-performing teams.

Commercially aware, delivery-focused and able to make strategic decisions.

Hands on experience with regional / national construction business’ in the UK.

Ambitious, forward-looking and motivated by long-term progression
