Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Manufacturing
📍 York | £50,000 + Benefits | 6–2 / 2–10 Rotating Shifts (Monday to Friday)
Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a secure role in a fast-moving manufacturing environment?
We’re working with a leading FMCG manufacturer in York, currently investing heavily in their site and engineering team. They're now looking to recruit a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to help keep the lines running smoothly and ensure maximum uptime across the plant.
⚙️

The Role:

* Carrying out mechanical fault finding, repairs, and planned maintenance across production equipment
 
* Working on conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and packaging machinery
 
* Supporting breakdowns, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement work
 
* Assisting with installation and upgrade projects across the site
 
* Maintaining safety standards and ensuring all work complies with site procedures
🔍

What You’ll Need:

* NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
 
* Proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
 
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
 
* Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
 
* Team player with a proactive, problem-solving approach
⏰ Shift Pattern:
 
* 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm rotating shifts (Monday to Friday – no weekends!)
