Material Handling Operator

We currently have an opportunity for a Material Handling Operator at our Yorkton – Oilseed location. Material Handling Operators are responsible for providing effective customer service of the daily processes within the operations areas of the logistics department. They must ensure that all operational procedures are executed safely within minimal non-conformance and business interruptions.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and grade seed

• Load and ship finished product and rail yard management

• Maintain a safe, clean and accessible environment

• Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules

• Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:

  • Always using the required personal protective equipment

  • Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely

  • Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards

  • Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives

  • Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure

Qualifications:

• Must have grade 12 or equivalent

• Must have excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills

• Must be able to work rotating shifts

• Prior experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry experience is required

• Prior experience in a manufacturing plant environment would be considered an asset
