Product Manager, High Frequency Trading

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to oversee our High-Frequency Trading (HFT) product vertical. This role is critical to our success, focusing on the discovery, design, and delivery of trading systems where every microsecond counts. You will be responsible for driving the product strategy for our HFT systems, ensuring sub-millisecond latency and near-perfect uptime, while balancing aggressive performance goals with robust risk management and regulatory compliance.
You will act as the crucial link between our elite trading teams and our world-class engineers, translating complex quantitative needs into a clear, actionable roadmap that directly impacts our P&L and market share. Keyrock Product Managers are responsible for developing valuable and viable systems (& implicit services) that consider the voices of Business & Commercial teams, Trading & Research teams, and Engineering builders.
The position requires a versatile skill set across these three competencies, enabling candidates to tackle research responsibilities with confidence.
- Low-Latency System Leadership:
Drive the focus, design, and continuous improvement of HFT systems, ensuring the achievement and maintenance of sub-millisecond latency for critical trading operations. - High-Availability Operations:
Be accountable for achieving and maintaining 99.99% uptime for all critical trading systems and their underlying infrastructure, ensuring robust and reliable performance. - Commercial Impact & Strategy:
Shape and drive product activities with a relentless focus on commercial impact, directly contributing to P&L, market share, and capital efficiency targets. - Continuous Product Innovation:
Lead the discovery, design, and development of ongoing trading enhancements and risk monitoring tools, ensuring our systems maintain a competitive edge. - Strategic Road mapping & Communication:
Develop, own, and clearly communicate the product roadmap, ensuring tight alignment between traders, engineering, and business stakeholders on all projected work. - System Resilience & Validation:
Oversee the rigorous stress-testing of trading systems and ensure their seamless integration into back-testing frameworks to validate performance and robustness. - Regulatory & Compliance Alignment:
Define and integrate compliance and regulatory requirements into the product roadmap, ensuring all systems operate within legal and internal risk frameworks. - Market & Vendor Intelligence:
Manage key relationships with data providers and exchanges while continuously scanning the competitive landscape to identify strategic threats and opportunities. - Stakeholder Nexus:
Act as the central communication and management hub between traders, quants, engineers, and other business stakeholders, ensuring focus is maintained on delivering impact and value.
- Low-Latency Systems
Experience:
Demonstrable exposure to the product management or development of low-latency or high-frequency trading systems. - Quantitative Acumen:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and discuss complex financial models and trading strategies. - Technical Proficiency: A deep technical understanding of the components of a modern electronic trading system, from market data ingestion to order execution.
- Trading & Risk Management Exposure:
