Senior Quantity Surveyor

This role and all of our roles outside of Ireland include a full travel package covering flights, accommodation, travel and a daily living allowance reflective of the country you will be based in.

Our client is a leading European construction solutions provider, managing complex engineering and construction projects across various sectors. They are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Frankfurt, Germany.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key part of the Construction Team, ensuring the commercial success of projects. You will manage all aspects of cost control, including compliance with contract obligations, procurement, subcontractor accounts, cash flow forecasting, and reporting. You will play an active role in monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing best practices in commercial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Construction Team in all Quantity Surveying functions.
  • Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice to the construction team.
  • Identify potential commercial risks and report them to management.
  • Compile monthly progress applications, including accurate remeasure, variations, dayworks, and claims.
  • Coordinate operational procurement activities in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to final account.
  • Forecast and manage turnover and cash flow for projects.
  • Review and commercially manage all projects, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Identify, analyze, and report on business and project trends.
  • Provide data and analysis of issues and risks for management.
  • Implement best practices in commercial processes and budgeting.
  • Ensure adherence to contract programmes and provide weekly reports on progress.
  • Review incoming correspondence to identify critical items and initiate replies.
  • Ensure the Construction Team adheres to all contractual requirements.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with Group Policies and highlight any exceptions.
Qualifications and Key Criteria
  • Relevant third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience post-qualification in a large onsite environment.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
