Senior PCB-CCA Designer in Space products (m/f/d) – Zürich
Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), is a global space manufacturer delivering high‑tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, and more. In Zürich we operate a center of excellence for satellite and space technology, and we are seeking a Senior PCB‑CCA Designer to contribute to the development, operation, and deployment of satellite‑based systems.
Key responsibilities- Ensure development of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) according to industry standards (ECSS, MIL, IPC)
- Break down specifications from system level
- Lead conceptual design including trade‑offs
- Review verification of electrical circuits, analysis, and simulation
- Test and commission electronics boards
- Support assembly, integration, and test activities
- Establish technical documentation such as design descriptions, analyses (worst‑case, parts stress), and test reports
- Maintain design configuration and release manufacturing files (drawings, procedures, EEE parts lists)
- Participate in internal and external design reviews
- Collaborate interdisciplinary with system, mechanical and thermal engineering teams
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Electronics
- Proven practical experience in development of electronics hardware components
- Experience in schematics entry and PCB layout (Siemens EDA Xpedition tool a strong plus)
- Knowledge of Monte‑Carlo/circuit simulation tools (OrCAD PSpice)
- Experience with signal and power integrity simulation and EMC aspects
- Experience with radiation mitigation techniques in electronics design
- Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills; structured, methodical working style
- Fluent in English (mandatory);
German and/or French spoken is a plus
