We are looking for an Applied Research Engineer to work with one of the leading global tech giants
, based in Zurich, Switzerland
.

The role is to join their contingent workforce (contract) initially on a one‑year contract which can be extended through to 18 months. This team works remotely on a global scale, but you need to be based in Switzerland. The role tends to be hybrid, however can be operated fully remotely.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Engineer to join our team, focusing on cutting‑edge research and development in Generative Models for 3D Avatars. This role offers the opportunity to work on next‑generation technologies that power realistic, expressive, and interactive avatars.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize generative models for 3D Avatars, with a focus on realism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (research, engineering) to integrate state‑of‑the‑art generative techniques into production systems.
  • Conduct experiments and prototype new approaches in areas such as video/image generation, human face and expression representation, and human body/clothing modeling.
  • Analyze and improve model performance, scalability, and robustness.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in computer vision, machine learning, and generative modeling.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. PhD is a strong plus.
  • Generative models (video or image).
  • Human face/expression representation.
  • Human body/clothing modeling.
  • Computer vision and machine learning.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Tensor Flow).
  • Solid understanding of 3D geometry, graphics, or related computational techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience with large‑scale model training and deployment.
  • Publications or contributions to top‑tier conferences/journals in computer vision or machine learning.
  • Familiarity with avatar technologies, 3D reconstruction, or related areas.
