PositionAs the Head of SEO and Content Strategy, you will architect comprehensive growth strategies that support our ambitious student enrollment expansion while building sustainable competitive advantages in customer acquisition.
Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Driving global SEO and content strategies that boost student enrollment in 40+ markets. Leading EF Language Abroad’s digital authority, positioning it as the go-to voice in language education and cultural immersion. Championing SEO and content marketing worldwide, guiding local teams with best practices. Staying ahead of search trends, algorithm shifts, and AI innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
- Team and Cross-Functional Leadership: Managing and growing a high-performing team of SEO specialists, engineers, and content strategists. Overseeing remote tech resources in Budapest, integrating them into global initiatives. Aligning central and local marketing on organic growth goals. Cultivating innovation and mentoring teams in both proven SEO tactics and emerging AI-driven methods.
- Content Strategy: Building content frameworks that showcasing EF’s expertise across search and AI platforms. Testing, measuring, and refining content performance across search engines and AI responses.
- Performance & Innovation: Defining KPIs linking organic growth to enrollment, and brand authority. Delivering clear executive reporting on ROI and strategic impact. Experimenting with emerging platforms before they go mainstream. Traveling globally to support local teams and championing SEO/content excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field (advanced degree a plus)
- 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience
- Education industry background preferred, with expertise in student acquisition and long sales cycles
- Expert-level technical SEO skills, including site architecture, international SEO, and enterprise-scale optimization
- Proven experience leveraging AI and machine learning to shape search, content discovery, and customer acquisition strategies
- Skilled in entity-first content strategies that perform across both traditional search and AI-driven platforms
- Data-driven, with the ability to set KPIs and clearly demonstrate ROI for organic growth initiatives
- Strong executive presence, with the ability to present to C-suite leaders and influence strategic direction
- Global leadership experience managing cross-cultural teams across multiple time zones
- Recognized thought leader ready for industry speaking engagements, publications, or advisory roles
- Skilled in crisis management, adept at navigating algorithm updates, competitive disruptions, and shifting markets
