• Representing Agroscope in the international EU Horizon Project 'Climate Smart Research  (CSR)'
• Coordinating project activity for the validation of innovative climate-smart management practices in agriculture
• Scientifically evaluating and rating new, innovative, climate-smart management practices for agriculture
• Carrying out a model-based assessment of the impact and implementation potential of different climate-smart management practices
• Supporting the development and implementation of the ADAPT Platform (Agroscope Dynamic Agroecosystem Research Platform)
• Authoring project reports and international scientific publications

• University degree with a doctorate in agricultural, environmental or climate sciences (or related discipline)
• In-depth knowledge of measures relating to greenhouse gas emissions and climate-change adaptation in agriculture
• Experience in the modelling, life-cycle assessment or inventorying of agricultural emissions
• A talent for organization, strong communication skills and an appetite for working in a large international consortium
• Very good spoken and written English
• Knowledge of two official Swiss languages

The EU Horizon Project 'Climate Smart Research ' (CSR, (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) investigates climate-smart practices in agriculture, i.e. measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and/or adapting to climate change. Within the project, you will be coordinating the activities for the validation of innovative (emerging) climate-smart practices. You will be using model-based analyses to evaluate the potential of these practices. In this way, you will support us and the project in the development of relevant principles for the climate-neutral transformation of European agriculture.

Agroscope is the Swiss federal centre of excellence for research in the agriculture and food sector. Its researchers work at a number of sites in Switzerland. Headquartered in Bern-Liebefeld (as of 2026: Posieux), Agroscope is attached to the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER.

The 'Climate and Agriculture' Research Group explores options for reducing agricultural greenhouse-gas emissions from soils and fertilisers and through carbon sinks. The Group investigates the opportunities and risks posed by climate change for plant production and evaluates options for adaptation. It is also responsible for the Swiss Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
