R&D Team Lead – Robotic Software Engineering (80‑100%)

Join ABB's Robotics business as the team lead for Sevensense by ABB. This highly versatile and vertical team builds, maintains and ships the backbone of our robotic and service software stack.

As part of a pioneering team shaping the future of robotics, you will lead a squad of seven engineers to deliver developer enablement and customer‑facing systems, ensuring our infrastructure scales for autonomous robotic systems in real‑world environments.

• Managing hiring, onboarding and fostering a culture of collaboration, personal growth and technical excellence; mentoring software engineers.
• Owning and maintaining diverse software systems and technologies that build high‑quality robotic systems.
• Working closely with robotic algorithm, project and product teams to align developments with stakeholder requirements and timelines.
• Implementing standards and best practices for code quality, reproducibility, and security.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or similar.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• 2+ years of leadership experience through leading teams, projects or mentoring others.
• Solid English language skills (German is welcome).
• Experience with Docker, development of HTTP‑based APIs, SQL, Dev Ops, cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with Linux and Debian‑based distributions.
• Nice to have: background in robotics, embedded Linux (Jetson), ROS2, Rust.
