Embedded Software Engineer, Robotics, Software Engineer
Born from the labs of ETH Zurich in 2024,
Duatic is for the restless and the brilliant who are ready to engineer the workforce of tomorrow.
We are pioneering human-scale, dual-arm robotics by merging groundbreaking hardware with intelligent software - creating systems that don't just automate, but truly collaborate to solve global labor shortages. As a young,
high-velocity startup
, we trade bureaucracy for pure ownership
. We are looking for ambitious engineers and PhDs eager to bridge the gap between leading-edge science and real-world impact.
If you are ready to leave the safe path and build technology that defines a generation, join us at the ground floor.
We are looking for a performance-obsessed Embedded Firmware Engineer to build the nervous system of our next-generation robots.
You won't be designing PCBs here – we have hardware engineers for that.
Your job is to make that hardware perform. You will write the low-level C++ drivers, implement the FOC motor control loops, and ensure our Ether
CAT communication hits the hard real-time deadlines every single cycle.
This is a gritty, hands-on role. You will spend as much time looking at logic analyzers and oscilloscopes as you will at your IDE. If the motor jitters, it’s your control loop. If the bus latencies spike, it’s your driver. You own the code that moves the machine.
- 5+ years of deep embedded experience: You have shipped firmware for complex electromechanical products, not just evaluation boards.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills for embedded firmware development
- Rust skills are welcome
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g.,
STM
32
) and hardware bring-up/debugging - Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g.,
EtherCAT
) - Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
- Solid communication skills in English
- Build from Scratch:Your code directly controls high-power actuators. You see the result of your immediately in the physical world.
- True Ownership & Impact: See your work come to life from day one. As a foundational hire, your work will directly shape our technology and our company.
- Elite, Hands-on Team: Work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment alongside top robotics talent rooted in ETH Zurich research.
- No Red Tape: We're an ambitious, focused team driven by growth and excellence, not bureaucracy.
- Join our team in Zurich (CH) or Esslingen am Neckar (DE). We value in-person collaboration, most work is on-site, with some hybrid flexibility. Full remote work is not possible.
