Study Political Science abroad in Rome with John Cabot University (JCU)! The largest overseas American liberal arts university in Italy, JCU provides a range of four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees taught entirely in English to students from the U.S. and worldwide. Our BA in Political Science provides a comprehensive understanding of the historical and behavioral aspects of political life, and has as its focus the theoretical and methodological aspects of the study of Politics and, more broadly, the Social Sciences.

It will be valuable to those interested in deepening their comprehension of social phenomena and possibly preparing for graduate work in this area.

In this program, you are introduced to the systematic analysis of political structures, institutions, issues and events in an increasingly globalized world. Your coursework provides the opportunity for in-depth study of the distribution, dynamics, and legitimization of political power.

Subjects covered include political theory, international relations, legislative systems, parties and elections, social movements, and law. 

Our curriculum has traditional strengths in the behavioral and historical study of American, European and international institutional politics, as well as human rights, global public policy, global political theory, and peace & conflict studies.

In addition, it offers a regional focus on politics in the European and broader Mediterranean context.
