PILS - Spanish School at the Beach:
Pichilemu Institute of Language Studies (PILS) is a Spanish language school in Pichilemu which is located on the rural coast of Central Chile and is approximately 3.5 hours by bus from the capital Santiago. We offer intensive Spanish courses and university-accredited programs to students from around the world. Pichilemu is the surfing capital of Chile and we offer our students a Study Spanish and Surf Package which combines quality Spanish classes with surfing lessons.

Study Spanish and Surf Program:
This program allows students to study Spanish in the morning and Surf in the afternoon! A 1 week package includes: mid-range accommodation, 5 surfing lessons and 20 hours of Spanish classes.

Students will have 4 hours of Spanish classes per day in small group (or the equivalent value in private lessons). They will have 5 surf classes with professional surfers with all equipment included. Our Spanish and Surf programs are offered all year round and students can start on any Sunday.

Pichilemu is famous in the surf-world for its consistent left-hand point break waves. Surfers come from all over the world to experience our part of the great Pacific Ocean. While wetsuits are a must all year, the sunny days help with the cold water.

There are easy beach breaks for complete beginners. The point break in town has a sand bottom (so safe), but the currents and size generally make it an intermediate wave. Beginners can try the beach break at the main beach (Playa Puntilla) they can take class or just rent a wetsuit and board. More experienced surfers can try their hand at Punta de Lobos (5k south). This beach is well known for the waves that occasionally reach heights of 40 feet!

Spanish Classes:
Group classes are a great way to learn. At PILS even our small group classes are customized. With a maximum of 6 students per class you will always have the teacher's attention and the freedom to ask questions. Group classes are able to do more role-play activities and competitions.

At PILS, we are flexible and will do our best to find you a group at your level. Our main priority is your learning development and we rather you take fewer private hours than put you in a group too high or low for your level. During the high season months (Nov-March) finding a group is generally no problem. You can always mix private and group classes as well.
