Spanish Language Courses in Pichilemu, Chile

PILS - Spanish School at the Beach:
Pichilemu Institute of Language Studies (PILS) is a unique Spanish language school offering intensive and non-intensive Spanish courses in Chile's surfing capital, Pichilemu to students from around the world. In addition, we offer study abroad semester programs and college credit programs for US and international college & university students. Pichilemu is located on the rural coast of Central Chile and approximately 3.5 hours by bus from the capital, Santiago which has an international airport.

Our Spanish Courses / Programs include:

Group Spanish Classes:
Group classes are a great way to learn. At PILS even our small group classes are customized. With a maximum of 6 students per class you will always have the teacher's attention and the freedom to ask questions. Group classes are able to do more role-play activities and competitions. We offer group Spanish classes all year round. Group class students must be at a similar level of Spanish. It is also possible to combine group Spanish classes with private lessons.

Group classes are based on availability. Single students who register for group classes will be given an equitable amount of private classes if no suitable partners are available. However, solo travelers can be assured that we'll do our best to find appropriate group partners. During our high season November-April more frequent group classes run starting every Monday.

College Credit Programs for US College / University Students:
US college students can design their own college credit program. Choose from 9 different undergraduate Spanish classes and take between 3 and 15 credits. These classes are generally a mix of small group and private with a minimum study time depending on how many courses you want to take. All course work will be revised and approved by the staff at Brookhaven College in Texas.

These classes are available:
Beginner 1a, Beginner 2a, Intermediate 2a, Intermediate 2b, Spanish Conversation, Introduction to Business Spanish, Introduction to Latin American Literature, Introduction to Spanish Literature I and II, and Spanish Conversation and Culture through Reading.

Semester Abroad Programs:
All course work will be revised and approved by the staff at Brookhaven College in Texas. Semester abroad students will stay in homestay accommodation with local Argentine host families and will enjoy excursions organized by PILS.

During our Semester program students take the following courses:
- Spanish Beginner 1b
- Spanish Intermediate 2a
- Spanish Intermediate 2b
- Introduction to Latin American Literature
- Spanish Conversation and Culture through Reading

Universidad de Bolivariana certified 40 hour course for non-US students:
We also offer a certificate for non-US students which is approved by the Universidad de Bolivariana in Santiago for 40 hour courses (4 levels) based on US University semesters / quarters. Talk to your student advisor about possible Spanish credit opportunities with PILS.

Private Spanish Lessons:
Individual Spanish lessons are a good option for all levels - from beginner to advanced. You can work at your own page and focus on your specific Spanish language learning needs. You will receive one-on-one instruction from our patient and creative teachers. Private Spanish classes also have the most scheduling flexibility and can begin any time of year with only 1-2 days notice. It is also possible to combine private Spanish lessons with group classes.

Spanish + Surf Package:
1 week package includes: mid-range accommodation, 5 surfing lessons and 20 hours of Spanish classes. Students will have 4 hours of Spanish classes per day in small group (or the equivalent value in private lessons). They will have 5 surf classes with professional surfers with all equipment included. Our Spanish and Surf programs are offered all year round and students can start on any Sunday.

Spanish + Kite Board Package:
1 week package includes: mid-range accommodation, 3 kite boarding lessons and 20 hours of Spanish classes. Students will have 4 hours of Spanish classes per day in small group (or the equivalent value in private lessons). They will also have 3 kite board classes with professional kitesurfers + all equipment included. The recommended season for kite boarding is September to December.

Spanish + Multi-activity Package:
1 week package includes: mid-range accommodation, 2 surfing lessons, 20 hours Spanish study, 1 local culture + food tour, 1 horseback ride on the beach, optional wine tour in Santa Cruz. Booking will only be accepted for 2 or more people. This program is offered all year round.

Santiago-Pichilemu City Combination Program:
Students have the options of doing a dual city combination package with our partner school in Santiago which is located in the hip and scenic part of Santiago called Providencia. They offer top-level Spanish courses to students from all over the world as well as excursions in and around Santiago.

Online Spanish Classes:
PILS offers online Spanish lessons which may be taken before, after or en lieu of your classroom-based classes with us in Pichilemu.
