Award-Winning Chefs:

Image of French Cooking Classes in France• Our two award-winning Master-chefs are natives of our Languedoc-Roussilon region, Messrs Jean-Marc Boyer and Greg Legros take pride in their renown as "chefs exceptioniels".

•  Jean-Marc Boyer is one of France’s famous and dynamic chefs. Having trained at the Ritz in Paris, Jean-Marc spent 20 years in the capital city, working with some of the country’s greatest chefs at Michelin-starred restaurants.

• He is much feted in his homeland with awards – amongst them a Michelin Star – regular TV appearances and fulsome praise from publications and restaurant guides for his own gastronomic restaurant, ‘Le Puits de Tresor’ in the ancient Cathar town of Lastours, just north of Carcassonne. He is occasionally called upon to return to Paris to cook for France's President Macron and his guests.

• Gregory Legros specialised as a patisserie chef and spent a decade working in numerous high-profile Michelin restaurants, including in Paris and Cannes, before establishing his international reputation running kitchens of some of the planet's most impressive hotels: in New Zealand, Vietnam, Oman and the legendary Sandy Lane in Barbados he was Head Patisserie Chef before returning to his homeland in recent years with his young family. He also finds time to train professional chefs at a culinary college.

Demonstrating and guiding the hands-on Gastro Academy classes,  the two chefs now share a mutual goal, a single focus to share their skills, knowledge and passion for food with students who share that enthusiasm.

Press & Critic Reviews:

•  ‘We chopped, braised, stirred, blended and peeled but, most of all, learnt loads in a few days. If you’ve ever been to a house party, this one will top the lot...The French House Party is an exceedingly well-run company...the attention to detail is simply superb’.
Hilary Scott, Reading Post

•  'Oh my word! If you enjoy food and like to cook, this experience is fantastic! "Wow!" is all I can say. The instruction, the camaraderie, the food - all so incredible! If you have any doubts, cast them aside and do this, you will not regret it! Cool moment as well when Macron's personal chef called Jean-Marc and asked if he couldd come and cook for Macron ... while we were all standing there. Pretty cool!'
Ronald G, Switzerland.

"You always get value for money at The French House Party. This amount of time with such an experienced chef is not easy to find anywhere without massive expense … there were two brilliant chefs, an amazing chocolatier, Moira our delightful host and her team that did the washing up, made copious quantities of tea and coffee and helped things run so smoothly (as usual). If you ever fancy doing something a bit different then give it a go, I went once and keep returning – it’s so much fun.”
Julian, 2022

•  ‘It all seemed so easy and was great fun. I’ve always been slightly suspicious about the idea that you pay money to be allowed to cook your own meals, after all aren’t holidays supposed to be where other people do the work and you sit back and enjoy? But actually we did the best bits and washing and clearing up was left to others … This had been an intensive experience, bringing us all together as a perfectly formed “Brigade de Cuisine” and I’m sure everyone discovered something new. The French House Party is a great way to learn, the rooms are comfortable, amenities excellent and their organization cannot be faulted’.
Rupert Parker, Documentary Producer

•  "Twenty-one hours of French cooking lessons over the course of six days, given by two famous French chefs and voila: I am confident in having mastered the art of French cooking."
Charlene Peters, examiner.com
