Koiné - Italian Language Centre in Rome:
Learn Italian in the heart of Rome, Italy with Koiné - Italian Language Centre! We offer a range of Italian language courses for foreigners, including intensive Italian courses, CELI exam preparation, private Italian lessons and corporate Italian training for professionals / companies. We also offer online Italian classes via Skype. Italian Language Courses in Rome for Foreigners:

Intensive Italian group classes (4-weeks / 60 hours)
This course is suitable for students from elementary to advanced levels. It offers monthly start dates. Group classes are held for 3 hours each day (9.30am - 12.30pm) from Monday to Friday. This course covers: General Italian, Italian culture, Italian conversation and Italian grammar.

Super-Intensive Italian group classes (2 weeks / 30 hours)
Group classes are held for 3 hours each day (9.30am - 12.30pm) from Monday to Friday. This course is suitable for students from elementary to upper intermediate level. This course covers: General Italian, Italian culture, Italian conversation and Italian grammar.

Weekly Italian courses (15 hours per week)
This course is suitable for students from elementary to advanced levels. Group classes are held for 3 hours per day (9.30am - 12.30pm) from Monday to Friday.

Long-term Italian courses (12 weeks/3 months or 20 weeks/5 months)
This course is suitable for students from elementary to advanced levels. It offers monthly start dates. Group classes are held for 3 hours each day (9.30am - 12.30pm) from Monday to Friday. This course covers: General Italian, Italian culture, Italian conversation and Italian grammar.

CELI exam preparation:
CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) is an internationally-recognized Italian language qualification that certifies the proficiency of a non-native Italian speaker in the Italian language. It is required if you wish to enroll in an Italian university without having to pass the Proficiency Language Exam, or if you wish to teach Italian in a primary or secondary school in Italy.

The course is based on the Standard Italian Course (15 hours per week) plus 5 hours per week of practical written and oral exercises and simulations of CELI exam for all levels. Alternatively, you can choose to take CELI preparation only (24 hours for group courses or 20 hours for individual courses).

CILS exam preparation:
Awarded by the University  for Foreigners of Siena and recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS) is an Italian language qualification that certifies your degree of competency in Italian. Each CILS level refers to the ability to communicate in different contexts and situations.

It is useful for those who study Italian, who work and study within an Italian context, and for those who wish to evaluate their Italian language skills. The CILS exams are scheduled twice a year, at the beginning of June and December, on the same day in all test sites.

The course is based on the Standard Italian Course (15 hours per week) plus 5 hours per week of practical written and oral exercises and simulations of CILS exam for all levels.

One-on-one Italian tuition / Private Italian lessons
Private Italian lessons are an effective way to improve your Italian quickly. Private tuition is suitable for students from elementary to advanced level. The lessons can be customized to meet your specific requirements. The price includes registration fees and textbook. Semi-private classes (2 students per teacher) are also available with a reduced rate for the second student. Students booking 2 hours a week can get a discount up to 15%. Private lessons can take place at our school, or our tutors can come to your home, workplace or other location of your choice.

Corporate Italian language training for business professionals / companies
Our native speaker qualified Italian language teachers can train you at your office in Rome at a time to suit you. Lessons are available at any time between 8.00 am and 10.00 pm, five days a week. We can also arrange Italian group courses in your company. Courses include: General Italian, Business and Commercial Italian, Legal Italian & Secretarial Italian. Rates depending on the number of students and the number of classes booked but self-study materials and registration fees are included.

DITALS II Course Preparation - Italian Language Teacher Training:
If you would like to teach Italian as a Foreign Language or Italian as a Second Language, you need to have DITALS II certification. Monitored by the University for Foreigners of Siena, this course consists of a series of modules that are intended to provide a solid theoretical and practical basis, not only for the DITALS II exam but also for classroom teaching practice. The 30 hour course is taught over three weekends, with five hours of classes per day.

Every week, we offer a movie in Italian, Spanish, French or English that everyone watches together! At the end of the showing, you will have the opportunity to talk each other about the movie and to exchange views. A teacher will guide you during the showing and help you with expressing yourself in Italian, Spanish, French or English.

Koiné organizes weekly cultural events and tours across Rome to discover the “Eternal City” - one of the oldest cities in the world. Monuments and museums such as the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums are among the most visited tourist destinations in the world. Both locations welcome millions of tourists a year. One of our teachers will guide you around the city and its treasures, making you know its rich history and giving little tips that regular tourists won't learn! You will discover not only the classic areas of Rome but also be introduced to the local zones where Romans spend their free time.

- Italian language exchange & happy hour: 
Improve your Italian language skills in a relaxed and friendly setting with native-speaking teachers ready to help and guide you. Meet new people while drinking and tasting good Italian food. These evenings consist of an hour of Italian, English, French, or Spanish conversation. After the group conversation, the venue will provide a tasting of Italian food. During this time, you will wear a badge indicating what your mother tongue is, so that others who are interested in your native language, can chat to you in your language in exchange for theirs!


Online Italian Classes (taught via Skype)
Would you like to learn Italian from the comfort of your own home? To learn Italian online, all you need is a good internet connection speed, a webcam, and a headset so you can both listen and also speak. You will be taught by the same qualified and experienced tutors that teach our face-to-face classes in Rome.

You’ll be able to both see and hear your tutor clearly and they will be able to share materials online with you and interact and carry out exercises using faciilties such as the whiteboard. Your tutor will also be able to share a wealth of internet resources for learning which is highly effective for language acquisition. Online Italian lessons are available for students of all levels - from beginner to advanced.
