Rochester Independent College, Kent: Retake your A levels at Kent’s sixth form specialists - Rochester Independent College (RIC)! Located just 35 minutes south-east of London, RIC provides a distinctive alternative to a conventional sixth form, with day and boarding programmes available to British students and international students aged 16 and older. We have been offering intensive A level courses and A-level resit courses since 1984. Instead of rushing to university when you are not really ready, or accepting second choice courses through Clearing, you can opt to spend your gap year, or part of it, retaking A levels, or doing new ones from scratch.

Retaking A levels offers a passport to more prestigious courses at better universities. Many students arrive at RIC each year with three low A level grades and leave with three top ones and a first choice university place, after either a one year retake course or an intensive January to June A level retake course. Equally important is the self-confidence gained from these successful educational turnarounds.
The bespoke A level resit courses offered by RIC now run from January-June or September-June, depending on individual circumstances. Our teachers can offer retake courses for all examination boards and options.
These courses offer the chance to significantly improve your grades, the opportunity to take fresh subjects alongside retaking existing A levels and to prepare properly for university. It is also possible for students to combine resitting their A levels part-time from September-June with strengthening their work experience portfolios.
As many resit students opt to board at RIC, they still have the opportunity to leave home at the same time as their peers and live in a residential environment designed to be a stepping stone between school and university.
A Level Courses:
We also offer one-year and two-year A level courses.
Testimonial: “I’m delighted to see the results of Judd students retaking A levels at RIC and offer my congratulations to the five students who did so this year. We do recommend RIC to our students who are looking for further support and need to retake A levels.”
- Robert Masters, Headmaster, The Judd School, Tonbridge
