Language Exchange
Russian is not a difficult language to
learn with the right instructor. At ABC Language
Exchange we focus on the student in our
“learner-centered” classrooms. This means we put
your language practice first. Our small class
size (no more than 9 students) and lively
teachers encourage interactive language practice
in a relaxed and social environment. This means
you learn authentic skills you can use in the
real world, not just textbook Russian. Our
native Russian teachers guide you in
conversation, role-play and language activities
to be sure you get the most practice out of each
lesson.

Sarah Lawrence

Sarah
Lawrence is a small coeducational liberal arts college, offering
undergraduate degrees in Russian. Located just fifteen miles north
of New York City on a wooded campus, Sarah Lawrence is nationally
renowned for its rigorous academic standards. At Sarah Lawrence,
first- and second-year Russian classes are offered every year.
Third-year students are strongly encouraged to take their junior
year abroad; an advanced reading course is offered for students
returning from Russia and/or according to student need. Students of
Russian should also be aware that they can pursue their interest in
Russia and Eastern Europe more generally in many other areas of the
College. Conference work can always be directed toward your field of
interest, and courses focusing either entirely or in part on Russia
and/or Eastern Europe are regularly offered in a number of
disciplines, including literature, history, film history, dance
history and philosophy.
