ISSOS, Summer School 2026 at St Andrews & Cambridge Universities:
ISSOS offers three-week academic and cultural summer programs for international students aged from 13 - 18 years old. Our exciting residential summer camps for teenagers are held in July and August in the university town of St. Andrews on the beautiful east coast of Fife in Scotland, UK. St. Andrews is famous worldwide as being the "home of golf", and ISSOS students in St. Andrews also have the option of taking Golf as an elective subject.

All ISSOS students can be collected by a uniformed member of staff at the selected international airport nearby (St Andrews is located approximately 50 miles (80km) north-east of Edinburgh, and 80 miles (130 km) north-east of Glasgow). 

IB Extended Essay preparation course: 
The extended essay (EE) is a research paper of up to 4000 words, and a mandatory component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for all IB students.

The IB Extended Essay summer course at ISSOS International Summer Schools is designed to offer all students currently working towards their IB extended essay the chance to combine interactive skills seminars and in-depth individual research with personal attention from highly qualified mentors.

Seminars cover a wide variety of essential skills such as:
- Essay writing (including research techniques, outlining and structuring an argument, editing and formatting)
- Oral presentations and public speaking
- Time management and organization
- Independent study

and are designed to equip students with the skills, experience and confidence needed to achieve their personal best in their IB extended essay, as well as to make their progress easier for success in college or university.

Supervised Individual Research periods are designed to help students put these enhanced skills into action, and make significant progress on the Extended Essay. These research periods take place in the renowned main library of the University of St Andrews, and provide the students with:

- An ideal work environment
- Access to one of the best research facilities in the world
- Thousands of books, journals and reference materials
- Qualified supervisors and mentors to help students access materials

Students receive the time to write their essay, and will leave with a plan as to how to complete their essay or how to edit their first or second draft.

With the Choice of 1 Elective subject for a balanced program: Film, Art, Theatre, Golf, or Tennis.
