ISSOS, Summer School 2026 at St Andrews & Cambridge Universities:
Located in the world-famous university town of St. Andrews on the beautiful east coast of Scotland, ISSOS offers all-inclusive three-week summer school programs during the months of July and August. Our residential summer camps are available to international students aged between 13 - 18 years of age and aim to offer a balanced summer experience of academics, fun and culture. We offer a film making elective option as part of our summer school in St. Andrews.

St Andrews is located approximately 50 miles (80km) north-east of Edinburgh and 80 miles (130 km) north-east of Glasgow. All students will be picked up by a uniformed member of staff at the selected international airport. 

Film Making Elective Course:
Students choose one academic subject and one elective subject to study during their 3-week stay. At St. Andrews, students have the opportunity to take a film making course as an elective subject. 

The academic subjects that can be taken alongside this course are Creative Writing, Debating, English Language Course, International Baccalaureate (IB) Preparation Programs or Youth Leadership.

The summer film making course allows our students to discover the fascinating world of film-making and let their imaginations run free.

Throughout the course, students of all ability levels will benefit from expert tuition on script writing, directing, production management, cinematography and editing right through to location scouting and set design.

Armed with this knowledge, students will then create their very own short films to be screened in front of the entire summer school. 

Each student will also receive instruction in the use of top of the line Sony HD digital cameras and learn to edit with Final Cut Pro 5.

Working in small teams, students will then learn to work within a production crew taking turns to direct, produce and film their own unique films.

Students taking our Film elective will have the exclusive opportunity to visit The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and to take part in a workshop.
