Located in the heart of Florence, Accademia Riaci is an art and design school that provides a range of Bag Making and Bag Design courses for Italian students and international students from around the world. Taught by skilled Florentine artisans, our courses include one-year and semester programs, professional one-year master courses, short courses and summer courses. Our Bag Making and Bag Design courses are taught in Italian with English and Spanish interpreters. On completion of a one-year academic program, you will be awarded a Diploma. Accademia Riaci also provides Shoe Design and Shoe Making courses.

- Bag Making One Year Course:
Photo of Contact Page - Bag Design Course in Florence, ItalyLearn basic to high-level techniques of bag making from expert tutors, including rough sketch, pattern making and cutting patterns, edge maneuvering, skiving, combination of different materials, decoration techniques using accessories and holes, sewing by machines, composing, and purchasing materials at wholesale shops.

- Bag Making Semester Program:
With a focus on solid basic techniques, in this course you will learn all the steps of bag making, including material design and studying accessories. You will also complete a portfolio.

- Bag Design One Year Course:
Gain the skills and techniques you need to become an independent bag designer, who can turn any idea into sophisticated designs. You will learn about materials, functions, trends, forms, accessories, as well as designing textiles used for bags and composing them into the final design.

The curriculum includes sketching, illustration, design development on computer, rendering, pattern design, and brand design. 

- Bag Design Semester Program:
In this course, you focus on acquiring a solid basis of bag design from multiple perspectives, in order to be able to respond to various requests and different scenes. You are encouraged to express your free inspirations into designs, taking into account design trends and market research. 

• Master Course:
Academic Year & Semester study options available.

- Bag Making

In this master course, you will learn more advanced bag making techniques. In addition, you will explore various aspects of the bag industry, including expression of creativity and techniques in the bag making process.

You will also examine the practical process of sales and the bag making business, with an emphasis on the practical application of your study to the bag industry. You will visit bag companies, bag factories, bag designers’ offices and showrooms. 

- Bag Design

In this masters course, you will study advanced bag design techniques, examining Italian tastes, patterns, colors (new decoration, new combinations), materials (avant-garde application, new materials), functions, and trends.

In addition, you will study realistic design, geometric design, project design, and computer aided design.
