Carlisle, a historic town in south central Pennsylvania; part of the metropolitan region of Harrisburg, the state capital is a history buff’s dream. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Carlisle Historic District includes architecture from each century in American history and still retains much of the original 1741 town construction.
