Airfreight import​/export operations Agent

C.H. Robinson is seeking an Airfreight Operations Agent to join our team in Aalsmeer, Netherlands.

As an Airfreight Agent, you will manage and operate the shipment life‑cycle for your assigned consolidations in the Gateway department. You will be the key contact and expert, ensuring that all requests and requirements are met accurately and timely. This position involves preparation, distribution, and maintenance of all documents for various geographical regions, as well as daily communication, reporting, and email management.

Exceptional customer service and operational excellence are central to your role.

In this role you will work on‑site with your peers five days a week, fostering collaboration and producing impactful results through face‑to‑face interactions.

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Understand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from purchase order issuance through cargo delivery.
• Apply industry knowledge and critical thinking to adapt processes and create solutions in response to internal and external challenges.
• Coordinate tasks on shipments to meet all customer SOP requirements: booking approvals, processing pre‑alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring proper invoicing, etc.

• Collaborate with international team members and third‑party agents to ensure efficiency, excellent customer service, and creative problem resolution.
• Build strong relationships with customers, responding timely and following up on issue resolution.
• Provide reporting and documentation support to internal and external customers.
• Participate in customer business reviews.
• Contribute to seamless forwarding operations across various regions, gaining exposure to unique challenges and client needs.

• 1–3 years of experience in global forwarding and air freight operations (import and/or export).
• Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and verbal.
• Excellent customer service and follow‑up skills, used effectively with customers and internal network partners.
• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and adaptability skills, especially in changing operational environments.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, including participation in a rotating weekend schedule with colleagues.

• Formal knowledge or completed coursework in supply chain, logistics, international business, or related fields.
• Flexibility and eagerness to learn in a dynamic freight‑forwarding environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).

€33,200.00 – €52,700.00

Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
