Overview

Supports active improvement of processes and represents Smith+NEPhew Operation Excellence System in everyday work. In close collaboration with various departments, identifies and implements improvement potentials to make production and supporting processes more efficient with the goal of increasing the long‑term performance of Smith+NEPhew Manufacturing AG.

Responsibilities
  • Implement a multi‑year transformation using Smith+NEPhew Operation Excellence standards and tools.
  • Promote and actively contribute to a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production lines and functional teams to identify and implement operational improvements using Lean‑management methods and the Smith+NEPhew Operation Excellence System.
  • Organise, lead and drive process improvements, applying value‑stream analyses, practical problem‑solving and 5S measures.
  • Plan, moderate and conduct workshops and training sessions.
  • Support project management through active accompaniment, monitoring and follow‑up to continuously realise cross‑departmental cost optimisations.
  • Assume responsibility for quality, health, safety and environment, applying company quality guidelines and relevant processes; report any deviations.
  • Participate in all required quality and GMP training.
  • Report any identified customer or patient dissatisfaction regarding Smith+NEPhew products to the complaints department.
  • Adhere to HSE regulations, processes and job risk analyses, including necessary medical assessments for role performance.
  • Participate in all required HSE training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or FH/Techniker degree with more than 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data to derive evidence‑based conclusions and data‑driven recommendations.
  • Analytical thinking, problem‑solving methods and ability to develop long‑term solutions.
  • Knowledge and/or experience applying Lean‑management tools.
  • Lean Six‑Sigma experience and/or certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI).
  • English language communication skills and ability to produce documentation and reports.
