Abbeville Fiber is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and full benefit package.
Summary. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Responsible for placing identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site.
- Routes items to inventory.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Maintains traffic flow through the yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
- Assists in stacking lumber or moving products by hand as needed.
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Six months of related experience
- Lumber experience is a plus!
