Position: Agriculture Helicopter Pilot - Full-Time

Job Summary

The Helicopter Pilot will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating helicopters for various missions, as approved.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate helicopters for various missions, including aerial application, utility services, power line patrol, and other specialized operations.
  • Conduct daily pre-flight and daily post-flight inspections of aircraft to ensure airworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Plan and execute flights in accordance with flight plans, weather conditions, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of flight time, fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with ground crews, maintenance personnel, and other team members to coordinate mission planning and execution.
  • Adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and safety procedures to ensure safe and compliant flight operations.
  • Conduct tailboard meetings/safety briefings, as appropriate.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, technology advancements, and regulatory changes related to helicopter operations.
  • Complete required training and certifications, including recurrent training, safety courses, and specialized training programs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in flying in applicable terrain and wire environments, applying specialized techniques and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude while representing the company to clients, regulatory agencies, and other partners.
  • Able to lift and perform tasks that involve working on knees, bending, crouching, and reaching overhead repeatedly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, aircraft, vehicles, and all company equipment through diligent housekeeping practices.
  • Serve as a responsible steward of company resources by promoting efficiency and conservation measures.
  • Capable of working flexible hours to support the needs of customers.
  • Subject to overnight travel, based on the needs of customers.
  • Maintain proficiency in software systems and processes.
  • Maintain, at minimum, FAA Medical Certificate Second Class.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Valid FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter rating;
    Instrument rating preferred.
  • Current Second-Class Medical Certificate (First-Class preferred depending on contract requirements).
  • Documented experience in aerial application, including herbicide, pesticide, and/or fertilizer missions.
  • Strong proficiency with low-level flight, contour flying, and precision maneuvering.
  • Knowledge of spray systems, flow controls, GPS guidance, and aircraft-specific application equipment.
  • Familiarity with federal/state pesticide regulations, including EPA, USDA, and DOT requirements.
  • Commercial Pesticide Application Licensed in Aerial Application.
  • Ability to interpret application maps, GIS data, and mission routing software.
  • Strong situational awareness and risk management skills in variable terrain and weather.
  • Experience operating in rural, agricultural, or forestry environments.
  • Comfort operating from remote bases, temporary helipads, and field refueling points.
  • Ability to perform accurate pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections related to both aircraft and spray systems.
  • Understanding of load calculations, weight & balance requirements, and safe chemical handling.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with ground crews, dispatch, agricultural specialists, and landowners.
  • Willingness to work nonstandard hours, including early mornings and seasonal peak demand.
  • Commitment to safety, including PPE use, chemical handling protocols, and company SMS procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to assist in troubleshooting spray equipment and minor field repairs.
  • Clean driving record; CDL with HAZMAT endorsement (preferred).
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and FAA compliance requirements.
  • Professional demeanor, customer-oriented attitude, and adherence to all operational standards.
